Printing Across Multiple Pages
Hello gang! Looking for an easy way to take a large image and print it over multiple pages. Example, I have a client who has a large map (158 inches x 22 inches) and he wants to be able to print the map in sections over several pages and then piece it together. Any EASY ideas on how to do it? I've suggested dividing hte image into quarters and then selecting each quarter and printing, but that is too difficult for this guy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. |

Re: Printing Across Multiple Pages
There are 3rd party programs designed to split images but if we're talking native Photoshop, I think splitting the image is the only way to do this. _________________ A happy-go-lucky chap, always dressed in black |

Re: Printing Across Multiple Pages
It largely depends on the size of paper in his printer. If it's big enough to take a 22-inch long page in one go, that will certainly help! You could write an Action that makes a rectangular selection the size of his paper, copies the selection, then creates a new document to that size, pastes and prints it. Then make it revert to the original document, and move the selection along by the width of the paper (or just under). I've just tried this, and it works perfectly. Then all he has to do is press F4, or whatever, each time a map section has printed. |

One solution would be to use InDesign, if it's available. _________________ -Never met a PS'er I didn't like- Will Rogers |

Re: Printing Across Multiple Pages
I would - but it all depends on the size of the paper you're printing to. It's not hard to write one! |
