Re: Free fonts
Hi Emy, there are quite a few sites that offer free fonts. If you do a search for ‘free fonts’ you will see just how many there are. However, these are the three that I mainly use

http://www.dafont.com
http://www.1001freefonts.com
http://www.urbanfonts.com/free-fonts.htm

Thank you Toquilos. Yes I did the search, but I did not trust any of them. I will trust the ones you sent me. Thank you so much

Re: Free fonts
dafont is very good, and has the advantage that you can preview all the fonts with whatever text you like.

Re: Free fonts
Surely you already have Helvetica as a system font?

Re: Free fonts
I don't know how it's possible not to have Helvetica! It's one of the core basic fonts. It must have come with your system!

Re: Free fonts
Is it because PC uses a different name for Helvetica? they call it Arial!
That's the same font but different name.
That happens a lot of times with the difference between PC and MAC.
Hope this solves your problem.

Re: Free fonts
Hi Emy,
There is a very small difference in the fonts but when you use them seperately nobody will see the difference.
If you want this Helvetica font you probably end up buying.

Re: Free fonts
What I know about fonts can be put on the point of a pin, let alone the head. However I have been following this with great interest because I always thought that Helvetica was a 'standard' cross platform font for both Windows and OS X. It is recommended as a standard font for web use for this very reason.

However it seems that things chez Microsoft have moved on. Windows, as Gerard has so clearly and graphically explained, now uses Arial as a Helvetica substitute and Helvetica itself is no longer part of the Windows font set.

You can find more information here
