would welcome your thoughts or ideas

On a previous post I mentioned I was trying to turn a friend of mines child into a vacuum cleaner. Since about age 2 he has been obsessed with them. I thought I would put a composite together for him for Christmas.

I used some of your ideas on plastic wrap filter and I am pretty happy with the result. Using Luminosity blending helped as well.

I haven't started any shading/shadowing until I take an appropriate image to use as the background.

What I was hoping you could look at is the cleaner itself and let me know if you think I could add anything else that might improve upon it more.

Other elements will be added but attached is a first stab.

Well, that's a first. I've turned all kinds of people into all sorts of things but never a child into a vacuum cleaner. Not entirely sure if it's possible! But had you considered placing him higher up - between the two green rings, say, rather than right at the end? His head might look less disconnected there.

Thanks for replying back Steve. I had not considered placing him there, but that might be a good idea to try.

I think the thing that bothers me the most is the darker hair color doesn't blend in right above it. I was thinking of experimenting with a gradient mask or something going from the forehead hairline, up to transparent.

Thanks,

Carl

A gradient mask might work - but, let's face it, it's going to look pretty weird whatever you do!
