Steve's method in use!
Just thought I'd post this to show the book tutorial in use (yes, I know the shadow's wrong at the side of the pages  )

Excellent. As it's a hardback, though, shouldn't the spine be slightly curved outwards? might help to make it look a little less boxy. Also, on these kinds of books the title and author's name tend to be gold embossed, if you can manage this. I've done a section in the new edition on how to achieve this effect with Layer Styles alone, but if you can't wait that long use EyeCandy 4000 (if you have it). Great effort! Steve |

I see what you mean about the spine, it looks like a strange hybrid of large format paperback and hardback! I think I was so chuffed with the cover illustration and the fact that I got the pages to look good, I missed the detail on the spine. On the subject of pages, is there a way of duplicating the pages equally with the cursor keys, it works but it only seems to do it a pixel at a time and 10 is too many, I ended up constraining and using the mouse, which can be a bit hit and miss! |

Duplicating is easy. To duplicate ith a two pixel gap, hold option/alt and nudge one pixel with the cursor key; then release option/alt and nudge again; then hold option/alt and nudge, and so on. It's quite easy to build up a rhythm this way to build in as many gaps as you like. Does that make sense? |
