Another using Steve's tricks
Freakingnews.com were running a contest based on the news that cars will be incorporating Windows based software as part of the navigation system. So.......

Of course, using the amazing Metal by Curves cheat.

Nice work! If only you could buy such multi-purpose paperclips.

One very minor point (and it is a small one): you've reflected the clip and eyes in the window - nice touch - but in lowering the transparency of both you've alowed the eye reflection to show up over the clip reflection, when it should be behind it. The trick, of course, is to place both elements in a layer set, and then lower the transparency of the whole set.

Bah! Rumbled again! I did notice that but not until a while after I'd entered it and it was such a small error, I left it.

The Metal cheat is great, this is the second time I've used it now, the other being;

I used a few of your techniques in this. One question I did want to ask, I had troubles with the original base, the high res original was square on but I needed it angled to fit the scene. I couldn't adjust the perspective properly, being spherical, so I had to find a different source, which was a lower res. Any tips for altering rounded objects?

Altering round objects is much harder. You could try using the 3D Transform filter - I've done some workthroughs on this in the second edition - but otherwise it's just good ol' Free Transform, I'm afraid, plus some patching and shaping on the base. I think the real key to it is detail: simply moving the Apple logo to a better perspective would distract the eye from any inaccuracies.

Ah, glad it wasn't just me being totally naive. I'll try and avoid curved objects. Saying that, I don't suppose it would be that difficult to create an iMac base from scratch.
