Challenge 501: The Young Etonian
As I was looking for a 501-themed idea for this week's Challenge, I came upon the wartime 501 squadron of the Royal Air Force, and its Honorary Air Commodore Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester. One of the images on his Wikipedia page shows him as a young schoolboy at Eton in 1914, dressed in the uniform of top hat and short coat. Dressing like this today would lay young Henry open to public ridicule. Can you adapt the costume to make its wearer blend in better with modern fashion styles? You may wish to bear in mind that 501 is also a trademark of Levi's jeans. High res is here.  |

Since I am new here I have a question. Looking through past challenges you all seem to make quite free with online picture sources. I have followed suit here. However what is the forum policy on copyright.? I am probably offending somebody's with the image. Is this OK or not? If not then moderator(s) please remove and accept my apologies.  |

Hi, welcome. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you're not profiting from someone else's images then there isn't much anybody can do about it! If it's on Google and it doesn't have a watermark then it's fair game right? Don't quote me on that though!  |

This is the selection of textures and images I used for this weeks FC. I made the curtains in the background entirely with Photoshop. I had a lot of fun playing with the blending modes of the textures  _________________ Dorothy: "there's no place like home!" |
