Challenge 281: Pop my cork
It's been a spectacular year here on the forum. We've seen outstanding work from just about everyone, with some huge leap forwards in Photoshop ability. With a range of new members who now seem like they've always been here, the forum continues to provide expert and friendly advice to all visitors.

So it's in the spirit of Christmas and the New Year that I propose a toast to all forum members, past, present and future. The only problem is, I can't get the cork out of the champagne bottle... can you help?

High res is here.

NOTE: I try not to look at my computer between Christmas and New Year. (I used to turn it off, but now that it's streaming music around the house I have to leave it on full time.) So there will be no Friday Challenge next week - instead, you have two full weeks (and a day) to complete this one.

Jeepy and Laddition would call two weeks quinze jours, and fifteen days is exactly what you've got. See you back here on Friday, January 8.

Just one more thing...

As it's the festive season, I thought I'd end with a puzzle for you. Don't post the answer here - just a note that you've solved it, but not how.

This is the puzzle:

New Year's Day falls exactly seven days after Christmas day, so the two are always on the same day of the week. In 1945, however, New Year's Day was on a different day of the week to Christmas Day. Why was this?

Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah, Buon Natale, Joyeux Noel, Joyous Saturnalia, 聖誕節同新年快樂, Veselé vánoce a šťastný nový rok, Glædelig jul, Fröhliche Weihnachten, God jol og godt nyttår, and a Happy New Year to you all.

Yes!
That's what we say, quinze jours ou aujourd'hui en 15!
^^

Je me casse la tête sur cette énigme!
Je trouverai!

Passez tout un Joyeux Noel, puisse le Père Noel être généreux avec vous tous!

Un gros bisou français à tous les membres!

I know the answer to that - I wish getting the right lottery numbers were that easy! Have a great Christmas everyone.
Many thanks Steve for this forum. A great 'place'.

I figured it out, it's very easy really. Once you read the question properly.
Merry Christmas and Happy New year to everybody. We are going to a fancy Italian restaurant tonight (Christmas Eve). Sitting outside, not even planning to bring a cardigan.

A very misleading (or incorrect) use of the word "However" I think.

Anna doesn't drink, (which might be why her animations are so good.)
Happy New Year to all.
