wow Anna, that must have taken you a while.

Thanks Pete. I love the subtle animation of the eyes. Lovely!

I used After Effects to animate her lips..(the "Split" Effect) by creating some basic mouth movements and repeating them and just some keyframes to animate Tinkerbell. All up probably took about 2 hours from start to finish.

Thanks Anna. (I wondered if after effects was involved).

I needed an excuse to try the new brushes in PS cs5, this one's not so Disney:

Re: Challenge 304: Disneyfication
Heres my attempt, neither the purple background nor the dress I did not make, I only fiddled with the ladies head really, and added some sparkles behind her.
Bear in mind I am only on the second chapter of 'the book'. I think its sort of turned out disney/fantasy-ish. I dont think Disney will be asking me to work on their team just yet

Re: Challenge 304: Disneyfication
This was an unusual Challenge, in that it involved more drawing than photo manipulation. But a wide range of approaches showed that there were several ways of tackling this one, from redrawing it to applying a range of filters.

A spectacular entry to open the Challenge from LonnieK, whose beautifully drawn caricature shows tremendous artistic talent. The hair has been perfectly hand drawn, and the treatment of the clothing gives it just the right feel to match the new face. Terrific.

A fully Disneyed-up woman from Eggbox, complete with a miniature Mickey Mouse standing on her arm. I see why she has the ears, but shouldn't that stick-on nose be black?

A redrawn version from GKB, complete with translucent fairy wings. Good texture in the scarf, and the clothing is nicely drawn, but... er... there really is something about the face that's really going to scare the kids...

A clever photographic adaptation from Ben Mills, who has enlarged the head and reshaped the features to make it more of a caricature. Elements like the added eyelashes and lipstick give this a cute cartoon feel - and the enlarged pupils are spot on.

A deceptively simple approach from Josephine Harvatt, who has redrawn the woman from scratch. To recreate a recognisable face using so few lines takes true artistic talent: and I love the faint shadow beneath the chin, a very subtle way of delineating the features. Perfect.

I think brewell put more time into mocking up the shot of the USA winning the World Cup than anything else - but despite this absurd flight of fantasy (well, you'd expect me to get territorial here) the Fairy Godmother is beautifully redrawn, with great simplicity and style. Just a couple of things: her colouring is more Simpsons than Disney; and shouldn't her eyes be looking in the same direction?

The full Disneyland treatment from nerdtron, with our woman clearly enjoying the occasion with a red nose and Mickey ears. I like the make-up here - just glad it's hosted on Photobucket, which reduces my chances of getting sued...

A clever cartoon treatment from Carlo Alessandro Della Valle, with the same Poster Edges effect applied to the woman and the background. Given the amount of black in the detail of the rat and the kitchen, though, I think we should see more black in the lines on her face: she looks a little out of focus in comparison. Did you try Poster Edges on her face as well? Didn't it work?

A subtly cleaned-up and smoothed-over woman from james, with a neatly nestling Bambi in her arms. Notice how James has brought in two new hands, which were previously hidden in the folds of the clothing: a nice touch, allowing her to hold Bambi more securely. And I like the glimpse of the Disneyland logo in the background. The animated version is a real treat - I like the way Bambi breaks out of the frame.

An ingeniously reworked version of the Godfather logo from tooquilos - followed by a neatly animated song from the Fairy Godmother herself. She seems a little static, though: perhaps her eyes could move around to add some extra motion? I have to admit I had to turn the sound off on the second viewing, the song was driving me crazy. For what it's worth, your animations are much larger and clearer on Vimeo.

A rather charming portrait from Pete, using very few colours - and a bold choice to leave the hair untinted. Best of all is the occasional and wholly unexpected blinking: it still amazes me when an apparently static image suddenly comes to life. Glad to see you've got so much good use out of the new brushes in CS5 in the second entry: it's a very painterly result, really nicely accomplished.

A beautiful image from Deborah Morley, perhaps more Beryl Cook than Walt Disney: a charming idealised setting, with a splendidly redrawn woman (and spots do suit her more than stripes) and some spectacular sunflowers. The only change I'd make would be to redraw the sky without harder clouds - and perhaps to tone down the virulent green of the grass.

A painterly conversion from Eva Roth, using a variety of filters - plus a bit of feature rearrangement using, I expect, the Liquify tool. To me, she's looking more anxious than I'd expect from a Disney character: hot about a nice toothy grin?

A first entry from new Forum member Jan in France, with a magnificent dress and sparkly background. I like the treatment of the face, which brings a real cartoon cheeriness to it, and the colour of the hair is wonderful! The only small issue is that the face is so much brighter than everything else in the scene: perhaps tone it down a little to make it blend in more?

I love laddition's treatment of the woman as Marge Simpson - a fantastic transformation! Really well done, with fantastic new eyes. A really funny entry!

A charming sketch from michael sinclair, and the wink adds a lot of life to the image. There's some subtle exaggeration of the features here, and the painterly treatment works well with this image. It may not be Disney, but it's certainly entertaining.

Not so much a fairy godmother as a wicked witch from Steve Mac - how little it takes to turn a cheerful face into an evil one. I like the suggestion of horns in the hair, and the delicate fangs!

Good week, everyone. Keep it up!

Yeap.... I did try it, but it was either to black or even fuzzyer (changing the "thikness")... so I decided to create 2 different levels and erase the "effect" from her face.
Thank you!!

Thank you Steve. I had every intention of animating her eyes but I had merged the layers when I imported it to AE and time being of the essence this week...just didnt do it.

I'm going into my World Cup Defense to show that other than the hair, the colors are pure Disney. I've also added the shoes for a better plot.
