Challenge 663: Morris dancing
"You should try everything once, except incest and Morris dancing," said Sir Thomas Beecham. Or possibly Oscar Wilde, or George Bernard Shaw, or W C Fields - the internet seems divided on the quote's provenance.

I encountered a group of radical Morris dancers last weekend - radical in their dress, not in the fact that they still play the same folk music and do the same dances.

For those who are concerned that Morris dancing may be dying out, this could be the reason why. Can you find this man a suitable mate?

High res is here.

Note: I'm in Poland until next Friday, so writing up this Challenge may be delayed. You'll be glad to know I'll be taking my Mattel Baby's First Camera with me, with the extra special fuzzy wide angle lens, so you can expect some interesting Challenge images.

Was interested to see Morris Women in the background. I had always thought it to be an exclusively male pursuit. A little research reveals that women's participation has a history going back almost as long as the dancing itself.

As for the Mattel Baby Camera don't forget to forget it somewhere on the journey out .............

You've never seen radical morris dancers until you've seen Goth morris dancers (not an entry - just an old photo)

They have all male all female and even mixed sides now (although purists do frown on the inclusion of wimmin)

Steve, before you rush off on a jolly to Poland with your Mattel Baby's First Camera, could you please tell us what that big silver box is?

No politics or ethic (or ethnic) assumptions, no nudes or bikinis, no innuendoes or double entendres this week.

She was there all the time, he just wasn't looking.

Re: Challenge 663: Morris dancing
Not quite a bikini - but in the oldest of Morris traditions I give you the "Molly"...

Its an old tradition for a Morris side to include one character who is a man dressed as a woman the "Molly" - admittedly not usually as glamorous as this one
