Challenge 667: Inspire me
The spire of St Mary's Basilica in Krakow is extraordinary. (Actually, there are two spires, and they're both extraordinary.) But the one I liked best has a particularly ornate roof, which itself seems to be made of a number of additional buildings clustered together. Oh, and there's a giant crown half way up. It's an impressive sight. Could this type of design be applied to any other building, do you think? Can you imagine how it might change your local landmark? High res is here. I'll write this Challenge up when I return in two weeks. _________________ If you hold on to the past, sooner or later you'll lose your grip. |

Say David, shouldn't the title be: "Challenge 667: Inspire me"? _________________ I'm still learning. |

Re: Challenge 667: Inspire me
Ben, Although I think the spire/tower should be more in proportion (smaller), you have got the hue and shadows dead right: well done! No Animation! The first image shows the original Allerton Castle. The second shows that I have duplicated the west wing and made it the left wing while extending the right wing slightly to show the photographer was near to the right side of the house. I have also corrected the perspective of Cracow spire to match that of the house/castle. Maybe later in the week for an animated version. |

Thank you. Funnily the hardest part was not the tower but creating convincing gold lettering. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Great entries so far! Ben, tonight, I heard on the news that Big Ben will stop chiming for the next for 4 or so years while they repair it. Really well done image. It looks like it belongs in the scene. Michael, thats a beautiful addition! David, those pencils - I want a set! Gorgeous! _________________ Wicked Witch of the West: I'm melting! I'm melting! |

Very clever and entertaining Anna: you've skill there Trevor I like it: very inventive: it would be perfect if you could "bendify" the central tower using possibly the "Liquefy" filter This Animation has been the biggest and most complex to date: enjoy UPDATED |

Hello Everyone Really love all your pieces they're brilliant!!!! for mine I used errrrr bits from the House with Chimaeras or Horodecki House, this is an Art Nouveau building located in the historic Lypky neighborhood of Kiev,Ukraine, it was originally constructed by the Polish architect Władysław Horodecki |

Re: Challenge 667: Inspire me
Thank you Michael. Agree, Nearing completion I was thinking could "bendify" / bloat like the rest of the balloon, but liked the stern contrast of Steve's inception, so left it, but I was also running out of time/energy. (A second version may be interesting, will see....) You've done a great job, especially with second entry. Must have taken some time, but enjoyed. Like your entry Oday. There is something about that, but I'm not familiar with the history/context, but fascinating, makes me wonder... I think I'd like to go there Frank, quite beautiful and serene ... |
