Great work everyone. This week I actually plucked up the energy to find some images to use, thinking I really must get back into this... Unfortunately sleep took over! Next week. |

I have no idea why the one clip goes all grey. I uploaded it from Mixamo twice and it did the same thing when the video rendered. My only explanation is that there is something Mixamo forgot to add in the code. I wanted to have him pace back and forth but it was more work than I had time for. Also, in Fuse the character's hair was a lot darker and more like streaked with grey. A special thanks to DavidMac's son for agreeing to do the voice over. Re: Challenge 670: Napoleon drowses
First to dig up the emperor was Josephine Harvatt, with a nicely inebriated Napoleon sleeping off the excesses of the night before. I like the traffic cone and the party hat - but I am concerned that he'd have to be sawn off at the knees to fit a bed like that. Not tonight, Josephine. A perfectly-chosen Napoleon from Frank - and, as it turns out, the first of many to use this image. I really like how he has one arm hooked over the back of the chair, the other resting on the table. Very neatly arranged, although the pose does presuppose that the chair is rather further forward than it really is. An extravagant entry from GKB, using the same image as Frank. The bottle of Napoleon brandy is very appropriate, as is the over-the-top portrait over the bed - and the highly sultry, if somewhat diminutive, Josephine. (Surprised you missed the chance to get Josephine Harvatt in there.) The Duke of Wellington is nicely integrated. Pleased to see you've lit the fire - but shouldn't this then cast a glow on Napoleon? A naughty image from Ben Mills - would that be what they call a French Tickler? You can see why she's unimpressed. The most exotic room of the week comes from tooquilos, depicting a gloriously decorated bedchamber - looks just like your sort of room, Anna. Great fire seen through the screen, and I really like that candle flare. Naughty choice of soundtrack to the animated version! Love that tapping foot and the hands going round on the clock, and the flickering flame effect. Beautiful. I was very amused by Emy's entry - a perfect choice of body for Napoleon, and I see Josephine's been overdoing the hormones. Fantastic. Funny how michael sinclair manages to be both on-topic and entirely off-topic - that's a first. A fine galloping statue, with cleverly alternating legs (that really shouldn't work, you know, but it does). I like the way he overtakes the platoon of horsemen. Clever. An interesting, and indeed on-topic, second entry - but is Boney floating a foot off the floor? A beautiful view from Mariner, with a spruced-up room and, best of all, a shiny new tabletop featuring reflections of the added objects. Very nicely done. Don't quite understand what's going on with the floor shadows, though. A very fine second entry - although that's a very youthful body for Napoleon! Boney turned down by Josephine again in Ant Snell's entry, with the box of aspirin as her excuse. I like the discarded arm - but he didn't really have a missing arm, you know, that was Nelson. Not sure about those huge shadows on the wall behind them, though. A funny entry from Linda Eckert, with poor old Bonaparte trying to get some peace while kid jump on his bed and robots kick footballs about. I like the added photo of Josephine, and its reflection, and the portrait over the fireplace. Just one thing: those kids are rather too small for the perspective of the room! A beautifully painterly entry from Vibeke, featuring a tidy domestic scene. I like his recoloured coat, and that's a perfectly chosen view of Josephine. Faultless. A fantastic entry from Oday, with books piled on the table, a new TV and a cute Napoleon teddy bear on the bed. I really like the way you've unified the scene with this completely appropriate cartoon style - very well chosen. Excellent. A sparse room from srawland, with a youth dressed in Napoleon's underwear gazing at his bust (as it were). All becomes clear in the animated version - and what a great voiceover! I like his poses. |

Thanks Steve. I did think of asking Josephine for a photograph in her flimsies but, Sylvia and my legal adviser suggested that it might not be a great idea. _________________ Time flies like an arrow but fruit flies like a banana. |
