Challenge 692:Marley's ghost
Another reasonably lifelike figure from Madame Tussaud's, this one's Bob Marley - in a fairly convincing pose.

But he does look rather out of place in this museum setting. Can you transport him back to Jamaica?

High res is here.

Re: Challenge 692:Marley's ghost
Sadly I have almost no time for this, if any. Which is a terrible shame as it is truly after my own heart!!

In 1969 I photographed a Jamaican movie based around reggae and the ganja trade called "The Harder They Come". The main actor was the singer Jimmy Cliff and I shared an apartment with him in Kingston for three months. Many of the reggae musicians of that era were visitors and so I met Bob Marley a couple of times and even have the dubious distinction of having shared a spliff with him. (I discovered the hard way that he had a much stronger head for it than I.)

To everyone's surprise the movie became a huge cult success and is still available in DVD and Blu-Ray nearly fifty years on and is followed by whole new generation of young reggae fans.

As a footnote to this I fell hopelessly in love with the leading lady and brought her home to England where we were later married and had two children.

Re: Challenge 692:Marley's ghost
Well I said almost no time so here is another very quick quickie. I have taken a frame from the original movie where Jimmy is recording the title song "The Harder They Come" and had Marley join him.

In these days of high definition digital it's surprising to see how grainy and fuzzy a freeze frame is from the movie film stock and lenses of fifty years ago. When projected this disappears because of a phenomenon know as 'boil'. Because the grain is random it is constantly changing 24 times a second and thus disappears.

Did you ever wonder where Bob Marley got his inspiration from?
How many Bob Marley song titles can you find in this image? Answers on a post card please.

Re: Challenge 692:Marley's ghost
I agree with Dwindt ....... mostly .......

Sun is shining
No woman, no cry and/or Cry to me
I shot the sherif
Stir it up
Coming in from the cold
Buffalo soldier
Iron Lion Zion
Three little birds

Not sure about his others ........

I would add:

Pimpers paradise (man in red) - if not then could be Lively up yourself?

The gate posts and arch with picture are the real Marley Heritage Museum so I don't think any clues in there.

The poster on the right hand column eludes me completely!

I just realised that Dwindt also had Pimper's Paradise and I missed it!

Steve has caused me to have Marley on the brain the entire night at work. Not that it's a bad thing. It has rekindled many a fond memory of the carefree days and beyond.

Okay, I started an image at home but forgot my flash drive on the table. Having time at work, I started another but didn't know quite what to do so I did everything.....

Wow! What a great story

Another example of how much in our lives is determined by chance rather than conscious design.

Dwindt & David, Really good star with the song titles, still a couple un-guessed in there. As for the poster on the gate, I could give you a clue but that would be a “get out of jail” for you. Whoops!
I’ll post full list at the end of the week.

You have managed to make the unnatural shininess work. In this context it simply makes him look hot.
