Thanks, yes. It really doesn't look like the original. I'll try post it from home this evening and see if I can get a better result. I wonder if I should reduce the size and increase the dpi.

A bit rushed, but hope it passes muster. I watched this film for the first time when I was about 8 or 9 - really frightened me.

Great entries everyone! Loyd I do like the atmosphere and colouring of your cell

Thanks Anna!

Its amazing how things become blatantly obvious once the image has been posted! All I see now is the wrong perspective of the suit reflection !!

That happens to me all too often... as soon as I hit the send button I see something I should have changed in some way.

Re: Challenge 693: Cell division
A fun quickie from Mariner started things off this week. Much more effort went into the real entry, rather beautifully imagined with a perfect reflective floor. But a small technical point: as it's clearly daytime, shouldn't the Count be safely tucked up in his coffin with the lid closed?

I enjoyed lwc's animation, particularly the way the whole room echoes the flickering light - very thoughtfully done. But the shadows in the room don't relate to that light source; the shadow of the iron maiden, for instance, appears to be on the left of it. A glorious second entry - now there's the stuff of nightmares! I like the serene third entry; but I've been puzzling over the shadow from that lamp. Is that really how it would look?

A cute Monty Python homage from Ben Mills, nicely cut out and shaded. One of my all time favourite movies.

A completely remodelled room from srawland, with new wallpaper, carpet and furnishings - I suspect it would have been a lot easier simply to move the door to an existing complete room! But I appreciate the effort. A fine animated version - and of course the real star is the guard outside the room who can't help peeking in.

A Mel Brooks clip from GKB, featuring one of the classic scenes from Young Frankenstein. I like the animated version - particularly the flames, with some very fine smoke.

An engaging Shrek scene from Darren, very neatly realised: I like the prince looking through the window, and that offending lamp has been very artfully removed. Good shadows, too.

A very domestic setting from tooquilos, with all mod cons - and very nice too. But the reflection of the suit is the wrong way round: you need to translate it along the line of the wall, rather than flipping it horizontally. I like all the neon in the animated version, and the touches like the corridor and the key holder behind reception.. now that really would be an interesting place to stay!

A very entertaining image from Linda Eckert, with a drunkard having tasted one too many bottles of wine... great perspective on the barrels, a really well composed image.

Deborah Morley has resurrected the Man in the Iron Mask - and yes, that really was a frightening film. He does fit well in that scene, neatly covering up the light behind him.

Is that a scene from Colditz in Jota120's entry? Oh, no, those are German soldiers, judging by the Iron Cross. Which is worn on the wrong side, as are the buttons. Careful when flipping images horizontally, Trevor! I do like the second entry, though.

Oh dear! It was supposed to be just before sunrise! Sorry Count, I think you might have been turned to dust.

Re: Challenge 693: Cell division
Thanks Steve, although you're joining Iwc and I by the hip. His amazing animations however proves he is more talented than I am.

I noticed the shadow but that's a slip up from me. I failed to rework the shadow from the original light. This intensified when I overlayed the shadow for the torch. The torch shadow extends to the puddles'edge. I only noticed it after I had posted it at home. I had already submitted and deleted it 3 times, I thought I better just leave it as is before I get moaned at.... you're already calling me someone else.

Michael, thank you, glad you found them of interest.

Thanks Steve.

Yes WWII German POW. Oops missed the buttons. I was checking out the other decorations and missed them or maybe they are chiralitical I notice the wedding ring is wrong too, which after your previous feed back I should have been alert too. Mind was wandering elsewhere....

Germans wear their wedding rings on their right hand, don't they?Although I would never have thought of that.

Re: Challenge 693: Cell division
Thanks Steve - I'm not sure why I rushed the first one so much, I didn't pay any attention at all to shadows and such.

I'm sure it would have been, if I could have found a suitable room with the right perspective.

I'm surprised you didn't comment on the "glazed pottery" look of the animated figures. I used Mixamo stock characters this time as Fuse just doesn't have the clothing I wanted. Anna warned me that they render a bit washed out and gave me tips to get them re-colorized. However, I forgot what adjustment she recommended to make them look less shiny.
