Challenge 713: Get me to Brandon
I went to Brandon, in Suffolk, last weekend. Or rather, I tried to; but despite the urging of both my satnav and the road signs, a new housing development caused the road to be blocked off in a surprisingly abrupt manner. Can you suggest how I might overcome this obstacle? Or remove it altogether? High res is here. |

Good gravy That is surreal! I am sure there is a joke to be made about Trump here. _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

The fence, sign and bollard are so clean, perfect and improbable they look photoshopped already! _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Hi Sara... We only play in the early morning, around 6:30 to 7:00 am. We play fast, in about three to three and a half hours. We're all old guys and the afternoon heat would likely kill one or all of us... I'm usually back home (5 min. drive) well before noon. |

Need to wait a little longer Steve then you will able to see your way through. Big struggle with this one. Despite a ton of trial and error it still doesn't really work. Anyway ......... here 'tis ............ _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

I think it works quite well David. And I must say, I admire your courage, I looked at that wall/fence about 90 seconds and decided to think of something else, anything else, to keep away from all that work of removal and reconstruction of a background. |

Sorry not to be so talkative, but three weeks after the tooth extraction I'm still in pain. Here I deploy my usual subtle approach, and I have reconstructed the scene, but totally kept to the brief: UPDATED |

That would certainly seem to "open up" a way through for Steve. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

David, I think you have matched the houses and scenery very well. http://vimeo.com/278975399 _________________ Dorothy: "there's no place like home!" |

Well Anna. You've done it again! Very funny. Love the "Abbey Road" reference.
My worry is not matching the background but making it look as if it's painted on the fence. Tried very trick and filter in the book but don't feel I got there really. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 713: Get me to Brandon
A couple of years ago I stayed in Mildenhall (the other destination on the signpost) for 5 weeks while working in the area. My overriding memory of the place was that it was like a “little America” due to the large American airbase, the residents of Mildenhall were 90% American, I remember trays of home grown sweet corn for sale in the drives of a few of the homes. The house I rented while I was there had a hot tub in the garden and I remember sitting in it at night as the huge helicopters from the air base flew over. It was a surreal few weeks but enjoyable. |
