Challenge 727: A moose in the hoose
I've just returned from three days working in Sweden, where I saw the Northern Lights (briefly) and ate a reindeer (not a whole one). I didn't manage to see a moose in the wild, although there were several in the truly splendid Wilderness Centre where I stayed during the trip.

Can you return this pair to the wild?

High res is here.

Never knew moose could look so donkey like!

This week could be tricky. My ten year old Mac Pro despite numerous hardware and software upgrades is getting very temperamental and slow. Tech tests show nothing physically wrong so I suspect it's a case of clogged arteries. So before I start looking at a replacement I shall first try re-formatting completely, installing a virgin OS and re-installing the apps clean as well. That's a lot of work and download and install time. So I suspect I will not be fully functional for some time.

So you may see me this week or maybe not ......

Fingers crossed.

Except no donkey is 2 meters tall at the shoulder and weigh 70 stone.

These animals are enormous. In areas of this country where they exist its common to see Public Service signs that say "Don't mess with moose!" Collisions with cars are often fatal for all parties involved.

You're not giving that Mac Pro much of a chance Gordon...

Springtime in Alaska
For the record, this is 10.67 MB, 105 frames, and seven different FX to complete the overall animation @15fps with a minimal jump/bump loop.

David, that is the brute force method. It nearly always works well. Last week I took over my grandson's games machine, a desktop, which was running very slowly, and have got rid of four years of junk that was on there, and fixed two critical operating system errors. It's now back in high speed mode. I have downloaded Affinity Photo for £50 and watched about eight tutorials designed for complete beginners. Oh dear. Now I realise how little I know and what a huge learning curve I have before me. Goodbye Photoshop. I suspect that I too will not be fully functional for some time.

With my now fully functional desktop with good sound and video I have caught up on Anna Tooquilos work which I was able to watch back-to-back on her web site on Vimeo. I was so impressed. The videos don't have any of the clunkiness you often see, the scenes merge seamlessly with each other, and the music kept me wanting to hear more. Well done Anna! I can understand why Steve gives you such good reviews.

Find Waldo

I'm so bored, this is the ninth straight day of rain here, too much for golf. I have the British Masters golf tournament on TV, live from the Walton Heath Golf Club, southwest of London. However, I would rather play golf than watch it.

I now have seven moose entries finished, so it's down to flipping a coin to determine what gets posted. Some are silly and others not so much...

Unfortunately, I'm not going to animate this one. I am working on an animation but it has nothing to do with this starting image. Maybe next week when I don't have other fish I'm frying.
