Challenge 996: Aerated Waters
Welcome James Green, "at one time manufacturer of Aerated Waters". I think we should see him at work, if you can oblige. High res is here. |

Re: Challenge 996: Aerated Waters
Well now, Michael, Schhhhh and others are carbonated waters. Aerated waters are a different thing altogether. I am tempted to think that the writer of this caption is misusing the term aerated and means carbonated. I haven't been able to find anything about the good gentleman in question. Doubtless you will research it far better than I ........ _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Well, David, I have his name and address and when he was born and died. He was a scientist, so you would expect to find him in a laboratory. If I can think of anything better he won't be going into a lab in my picture. Still looking for ideas. |

Very interesting Ben. You did better than I. I didn't manage to find anything about him. Seems the aerated waters he supplied were indeed carbonated drinks. Doesn't get me any closer to an idea though! _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 996: Aerated Waters
I am truly stumped for ideas on this one. So here is Mr Green developing his sparkling drinks. It was a complex business back then needing complex apparatus. Hidden within this lukewarm contribution is another movie buff reference. The wonderful 1950’s Ealing comedies produced many fine movies. I saw this one as a boy and I loved it because the bizarre machine made a bubbly plink plonk noise that I can hear to this day. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Great and convincing work, David and Loyd. I had similar ideas with this one, setting him up with a Soda Stream machine but there are other ways to aerate water. Mine is slightly unconventional but .... _________________ Wicked Witch of the West:I'll get you, my pretty! And your little dog, too! |

Thanks Anna! For some reason I get the dreaded "Sorry, we couldn't find that page." message on yours. I tried to copy and paste the link in my browser but it still didn't work. |

Re: Challenge 996: Aerated Waters
Well now that's odd. When I tried earlier today the link worked perfectly ..... now, suddenly, it doesn't. I get the same message as Loyd. It's fun Anna ......... but I shan't be buying any. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |
