Right elements on right poster
Hello,
iam wondering that are there any forum or internet site or book which is talking about using elements.
For example: if i wanna make wedding poster, then which elements should used on it or church service poster then which ones ?..
Like its been said in this book, if u must create a donor poster, then people wanna see something red(an heart or blood etc. )

btw. excellent book

Thank you!

Re: Right elements on right poster
Hi bilberry and welcome to the forum. I believe you're referring to resources on the internet to get stock elements for your designs? If so, there are several sites dedicated to providing stock images and graphics for low cost or even free. Here's a few:

Free Stock Photo sites:
http://www.sxc.hu/
http://www.morguefile.com/
http://www.stockvault.net/
http://www.imageafter.com/

$1 Stock Sites:
http://www.istockphoto.com
http://www.stockxpert.com
http://www.dreamstime.com

Clothes design elements:

As far as choosing which elements are appropriate for a specific design - it really depends on the overall content (such as text, etc) as well as the direction or emotion you want the viewers to get when they see the design. So, deciding which elements are appropriate for a project is relative to what message you want to convey, as well as considering your target audience.

For example, if you're trying to make a church services poster - are you looking for classy and contemperate to target a middle-aged to elder adult group, or do you want if fun and edgy with vibrant colors and hip fonts to catch the eyes of the youth and college students? Or possibly use preschool elements and Crayola colors to catch the attention of the parents with young children...

Hope this helps.

Chris

Re: Right elements on right poster
It should be fairly easy getting elements from the free stock sites - just setup an account -but don't forget to read their rules and conditions...

I don't know of any ebooks, but try amazon.com for good prices on lightly used or new books.

If you're having trouble on a specific poster design, feel free to post in the Image Doctor section of the forum and you'll get wonderful constructive criticism on your design.
