Re: Challenge 799: Empty streets

Thank you David, Frank and Michael

The fires are finally out. We have had quite a bit of rain this past month or so which has helped tremendously.

Locusts and frogs would be a great distraction for me at the moment. Ive been baby sitting my son's pet python these past few months (long story as to why). She has run out of water and of course, being in lockdown, he can't come over to refill it. So Im left with the terrifying task of opening up the cage and replenishing the water.

So if you don't hear from me, you know what has happened!

Thank you Michael. That's exactly the issue I am having. Adobe have acknowledged the problem and 'are looking into it'.

Excellent Gordon. You have caught the spirit of the time, the "Zeitgeist".

Lovely Gordon. Mariner said it precisely.

On a purely technical note I find the bouncing crowd disturbing. I understand perfectly what you are trying to do but I think they would have been better left static.

Re: Challenge 799: Empty streets
Steve I am afraid, unusually for me, I have gone completely off brief here ....... but stayed completely on topic. I really wanted to try and present some kind of optimism.

I have also bent the rules in that this is a single entry comprising two separate images each of which depends on the other.

Different times require different approaches.

Good reflection David. What a beautiful lake. But I fear many millions would have to die before this could happen.

Sadly yes. It is indeed a sword with two edges.

It was provoked by recent photographs of blue skies in China that are being seen again after years of smog and haze from heavy industry which had been shut down.

Apparently they are starting up again in many places .......

Re: Challenge 799: Empty streets
When I posted the previous video there was something missing that i really wanted to include. I searched for a suitable piece of video that I could use but was unable to do so.

This morning i remembered that I had exactly the thing I needed as a 3D model so, after a quick bit of rendering, I had exactly the sequence that I was missing.

I hope you all approve of the update:-

Steve - you might want to skip this video as I have posted an improved version

Re: Challenge 799: Empty streets
Very appropriate! Yes!

Sadly brings back memories of being very sick and then passing out for me.

Had to pay a clean up fine to the ground crew.

Re: Challenge 799: Empty streets
... soooo after I posted the updated video with the flypast I thought that Steve would rightly pick me up on the fact that The Red Arrows were not trailing their trademark red, white and blue smoke. I figured that I should have a bash at generating said smoke ...

Re: Challenge 799: Empty streets
Excellent video Gordon, and getting even better. One trivial comment: shouldn't the sound of the jets drown out the cheering for a couple of seconds?
