Re: Challenge 871: Shrewsbury rooftop
I seem to be having the same issue as Anna ha with her video on Vimeo. Vimeo seems to have made some “improvements” to their web site which has caused this problem. I will investigate and try to fix it.

Re: Challenge 871: Shrewsbury rooftop
I seem to have fixed it by changing some settings in Vimeo allowing others to view.

Let me know if it doesn't work for you and I'll try a bigger hammer.

Anna one of your best: this is very, very good, and I really love it.

Provided that Mariner doesn't screw things up (and he could), then the Gold Star might be yours.

Thank you!

Michael, I'd be happy to share the coveted 'Gold Star' with Mariner or anyone.

Good video, Gordon. Works fine for me.
Still can't get Anna's video unlless I log in to Vimeo.
Can you tell me where to find the setting in Vimeo I need to change?

Re: Challenge 871: Shrewsbury rooftop
Michael the setting to be changed lies within my own account so it’s only Anna or myself that can change it. I am not totally convinced that the fix has been made although it seems to be working for me at the moment.

Thanks, Gordon. I will keep looking. The problem for me started after I moved to a new PC with Windows 10. I will keep looking.

I've done enough! No animation!

All i want to do now is go into The World of Warships game and do some brawling.

Re: Challenge 871: YOU MUST BE JOKING MR. CAPLIN!
Interesting stuff so far.

Loyd love your changing landscapes.

Anna terrific! I also have to log in to see it.

I have treated this as a technical exercise in building a completely Elizabethan town using the little that was there, yet preserving as much of Steve's photo as possible, and trying to construct a convincing balcony. There's some odd perspective but stuff was crooked anyway in those days .......

........ well that's my story.

Master Caplin is appallingly camp and posed 'cos I couldn't find a non smiley profile anywhere and even Adobe's Neural filters couldn't make him look severe. Not be taken too seriously.

This was harder than I expected but, surprisingly, much more fun than I expected too.

That's a great balcony, David.

I don't know why it's difficult to log into Vimeo. Nothing has changed on my part. If it continues, I will send them a message asking them to look into it.

Re: Challenge 871: Shrewsbury rooftop
Looking at a few articles on line about this problem, it suggests that Google Chrome may be the problem. Would it be worth trying?

If users using Chrome are encountering the same problem, then just open your browser and follow these steps to play back the Vimeo video again. 1] Clear you browser cache and try again. ... 2] Open Chrome > Settings > Advanced settings > System. Toggle Use hardware acceleration when available to the Off position.

The problem with this is that I am using an iPad to view the videos and it happens with other iPads too.

I tried to alter the viewing settings on my account but they were all what they have always been.

Anna, I am using Firefox with Windows 10. It's starting to look like Vimeo.com might sudddenly have become a bit too security conscious. But where to change things? Meanwhile, it's really no big deal just to log on. It works for me.

So was I. So I started with the architectural aspect, which I rather enjoy. The rest sort of followed.

Re: Challenge 871: Shrewsbury rooftop
Great entries all:
Anna - love the open window concept and of course the elephant
Gordon = very spooky, nicely done
Nice lookout platform Loyd
Great deck David - indeed a difficult challenge in more ways than one
Had no idea where to take this so ambled along:

Elizabethan english: surely or assuredly. So it's loosely the 'must' part of "You must be joking Mr. Caplin!"
