Sorry to be so thick but, does one need to cut out each individual brick you have supplied, before I can work with them?

Mark, I got rid of the white background with the magic wand. The bricks image became my toybox. I lassoed around whichever brick I happened to require, made a new layer and dragged it into my picture. The key to this one was liberal use of ctrl-[ or ctrl-] to send the layer forward or backward. Here's what I came up with:

Many thanks Bruce. And congrats on a terrific building.

Re: Challenge 274: Building bricks
Here is my picture. I know it is not complete but I thought it was interesting to show how I got started. If I do finish the pic, it will be a race car when it is done. This was a challenge to do because everything was created from scratch. It took me almost the whole day to create the final picture (bottom pic). It was the first time working in isometric projection.

As you can see, I started out in creating the shapes on each of their own layers (top pic). Then I used the Transform to distort the shapes and then added some thickness (center pic). The last part was to move each piece into there position (botom pic).

Anyone feel up to wheeling?

Definitely having trouble getting the body colors to blend. I tried to lighten it up to look like it's in the sun but it kept getting washed out.

I will be very happy if I never see another lego brick, photoshopped or real, for the rest of my life.

Re: Challenge 274: Building bricks
Here is my try. It's not some piece of fantastic art, but it's probably the kind of thing I made as a small child. Typically you never have enough of any single colour to make anything properly, so as long as the brick fits, that's it

The second picture is a vastly reduced view of my (4000x4000)working area. I had all the bricks in all the colours as layers at hand to pull in when I needed them. The keyboard shortcuts SHIFT-CTRL-] & [ were my friends for this.

That thing in the front garden is a duck pond with three ducks.

Re: Challenge 274: Building bricks
Well... I did have a go at the Canon shooting the wax thing. And I started the Lego, and now I can't find it... (No.. Honest...I promise). I am still looking for it.
I can't start it again, I'm too old, what I mean is that if I did start it again I would be dead from old age by the time I finished it! So if I can find it and finish I will post.

Cheers
