Challenge 277: Sarkozy in history
During the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, French president Nicolas Sarkozy posted images on his blog showing him to have been present on the day, chipping away at the wall with a pickaxe.

But was he really there? It seems he may be distorting the actualité just a little. You can read the full story here and here.

Of course, it's possible that Sarkozy was present at other groundbreaking historical events as well. Would you like to suggest a few appearances he might have made?

You'll have to source your own Sarkozy images. There's a good selection here to get you started.

^^

Re: Challenge 277: Sarkozy in history

Love your entries Brewell. Very amusing. Not sure the blur isn't a bit OTT on the second one.

Veronique, that is excellent!

Starting at the Valley of the Kings and moving up through history, Nicolas Sarkozy has had a colourful life. Carla isn’t the only model in this family – how many people can say they were models for Michaelangelo, Davinci and Boticelli? He befriended Xerxes in Persia. He survived the sinking of the Titanic. He was there for the release of Nelson Mandela – he found the Dead Sea Scrolls in Qumran and as a double bonus found BinLaden sitting in the cave on the same day!

What an amazing man.

One thing that I’ve absolutely enjoyed about this group (since being a lurker) is witticism that overshadows even the most intricate Photoshop work.

For this portrait, Nick claims to have commissioned Swedish rococo pastelist Gustaf Lundberg. But something is fishy. Can you ascertain the bungle?
