Re: The traditional HTCIP Christmas party
Oh my, such a trip would cost a lot of money on the train, afraid I won't be able to come unless I win a hundred smackers of train fare. Maybe an exaggeration from the North West, but if I do win a hundred big ones, what day's this at?

Dejá_vu and Jono,

Sorry that you cannot make it for this one but I'll be posting a couple of photographs with any luck so you can join in that way

Perhaps we ought to enlarge the idea and have an International venue...... wish I hadn't said that, now

Anna, do you have Skype and a webcam?

I'm happy to put Skype on my little macbook and I also have wireless or mobile broadband.

Anna, you are 11 hours ahead so if we talk to you around 21.30 or 22.00 pm, that should be 08. 30 or 09.00 with you. How does that sound?

Wonder if we can talk to Vibeke or anyone else besides Trevor.

Sophie

Wish I could be with you, I will look out for you on Skype, my Skype name is vibeke_nz, the underscore is a habit from my programming days. Hope you have a wonderful time, perhaps next year.
Merry Christmas to you all.

Re: The traditional HTCIP Christmas party
Well the first HTCIP Christmas get-together went off very well indeed with, from left to right, Nick , Ted (who you might be seeing again in the near future in quite a jolly role!!??) Eva, David , Steve, Trevor, Deborah and Sofie. A very jolly time was had and Steve arranged a Photoshop quiz on his iPad. It was quite amazing how a seemingly familiar interface could be suddenly quite unfamiliar. Some images were shown and you had to say which filter had been used to create them; not as easy as you might think. My excuse was that many were CS5 specific and I only use CS2!!

We tried to link in a call to Tooquilos and Vibeke on Skype but we couldn't get a signal on the mobile network. We put this down to the railway lines running just a few feet above our heads. The restaurant had a WiFi system left over from the previous owners but said that they couldn't access it because they didn't have the password for it!! Sorry guys. Better luck next time.

What a nice bunch!

Hope you guys had a really good time.

Sorry I couldn't join you but I also have Caring duties which, of course must take priority. But I was there in spirit.

Merry Crimble to one and all.

Thanks for the photo, and for trying to connect, I was with you in spirit, or rather at that time of the day in 'coffee'.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all

It was great to meet everyone again and thanks for a wonderful and fun evening. Many thanks especially to Gordon for organising the get-together and to Steve for the excellent quiz. It was such a shame we could not link up with our friends on the other side of the world, who must have been in make-up at a very early hour.

What a great evening it was! It was nice so nice to see everyone, some for the first time.

Thanks again to Gordon for setting it all up, and to Steve, of course, for bringing us together in the first place!

It was nice of Steve to change into something more fitting for the latter end of the evening..

Yes, almost, I did get dressed, brushed my hair and put some mascara on. Should have taken a photo. LOL

Re: The traditional HTCIP Christmas party
I'm sorry Vibeke and Anna did not make the connection, but the 3G link coverage did stop for 20mins. I had no laptop or my fallback open then.

So I will post this one image, maybe two later (Steve wants another couple for a potential FC).

For me this image is art with friends, in my mind at least. They do not see me when I am quiet sometimes . The rest of the3D image or rather canvas is behind it/me, and its not reflected in the window very much. So you have to fill the image you can't see.......i.e think who they are talking to, and not so simple because we changed seats often.

Steve sounds like a potential subject for an FC, or do I take it too far, probably the latter?

Trevor

So lovely to see everyone!!!. The photos are great!! Yes it was a shame the connection fell through but there’s always another time!

Nick…who needs make up? Lol Just a slight Gaussian blur …hides a multitude of sins!!

David.. I cringed and laughed at the same time at your pic haha

Thank you Steve and Gordon for making contact yesterday and letting me know. I really appreciate it.

Merry Christmas to you too Sutex!

We are missing our host Gordon, so here are 2 - 3 more. This one flash less, nicer, but many fail, not professional at all but okay for friends And you can see outside the window......

Re: The traditional HTCIP Christmas party
I wish all friends were there, but in spirit I think you were and when we meet up on some foreign shores face-to-face in the future, I'm not joking, we have different backgrounds, but we have a major aspect in common sharing our creative images with feedback thanks to Steve and support from others on the forum. There are some thoughts on how to make it wider!
Last one I guess from me on this topic.

I really liked the quiz and the fact that each one of us seemed to know different bits of photoshop! And of course David's picture is priceless! Am intrigued to see what next Friday's challenge might be...
