JPEG with clipping path
I have a couple questions about making jpegs with clipping paths. First, is it possible to do, when I've isolated the object with a layer mask, instead of the pen tool? I hate fiddling around with all the handles and points; it's much easier just to use brushes and mask out the backgrounds. My second question, what is the advantage of saving as a jpeg with clipping path, rather than PNG with transparency? Thanks in advance. |

Re: JPEG with clipping path
You can't save a jpeg with a layer mask, as jpegs don't support alpha channels. You can of course save them as PNG files instead, but these take up very much more space on disk. It's fine if you have the space available. |

Re: JPEG with clipping path
Oh, I didn't realize that PNGs take up a lot more space. I have a lot of room, for now anyway. But I guess that's my only solution anyway, due to the way I isolate things. Unless there's a way to change a mask to a clipping path? |

I am away from my machine so I can't check. But I am pretty sure there is a button at bottom of the paths palette that will create a path from a selection. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Yes, but not a very accurate one. |
