HOW TO WATCH YOU TUBE TUTORIALS (INCLUDING TWO MINUTE PHOTOSHOP) IN A PANEL INSIDE PHOTOSHOP ITSELF
I just discovered that Pix Imperfect have released a new free Photoshop plugin that plays You Tube videos inside Photoshop itself. They play in a standard Photoshop panel that can be dragged anywhere, any size or shape you want docked or floating. Although it is was created for their own tutorials you can play any You Tube link or You Tube video ID in it.

So you can watch all your favourite Photoshop gurus (including some bloke called Caplin) right there inside Photoshop.

You can download it and install it free from Creative Cloud or from their own site.

More about it, directly from the horse's mouth here.

I think this is really neat. I work with two monitors, with tutorials on the secondary. It's the obvious way. But it can involve lots of head turning and breaks in concentration. I can definitely see myself using this plug in. Certainly worth a try!

It's a very well made plugin. It does exactly what it needs to do without any excess 'features'.

I can't fault the plugin per se. It's going to be quite simply a subjective personal choice of whether I like working with it. I need to use it more before I come to any decisions. Some tutorials will play well in a small window and having it right in PS where your working is really good. But some tutorials need the bigger screen, especially those that rely heavily on reading the cursor and menu's in the tutorial video without adequate voice over. For that I'll stick to my secondary display. In my experience the tutorials that require that are usually far less satisfactory anyway.

In the end, apart from odd excursions chasing a specific problem or technique, I rely almost entirely on Steve, Unmesh Dindah and Jesus Ramirez.

If any of you have recommendations I'd love to hear them.
