Photoshop vs. Elements
Will Photoshop 7.0 work with this book?
If not, then can I use Elements 8.0?

Thank you.

Re: Photoshop vs. Elements
Many of the sections in the book are achievable with Photoshop 7 but there are many functions, such as Warp, Vanishing Point or 3D support which do not feature in '7'. If you can accept those restrictions then you will be able to achieve much that it is featured in the book. All the basics are there in '7'.

I'm not familiar with Elements 8 so will leave others to comment on that.

Re: Photoshop vs. Elements
I worked for years with PSE 5 and 6 . I think I must be the only photographer that used to process all my pro work in PSE.

I found with some downloads and actions made into an ATN file PSE as good as CS3. I personally could not warrant the cost of CS3 and felt apart from a more complicated user interface it offered me no more then my own PSE6.

I upgraded to CS5 only because Adobe gave me a huge amount off

If you have a knowledge of the working files in PSE you can add puppet warp its very difficult to explain how but it can be done.

If you decided to upgrade to CS5 wait until adobe have a special offer. to get the 3D though you need the extended edition which is more money I just went for plain CS5, As i dont feel I will ever use the 3D in the trail I found it complicated and actually really had no need for it.

The PSE versions are so great as an introduction into photoshop the user interface is simple and friendly and yes you can get really creative in PSE, maybe "how to cheat in elements 7" would be a good buy for you.
