Re: CS5
Um. Well, this is a tricky one. The student/teacher edition is the same as regular CS5 - might even be the same as Extended - just at a lower price. So if you qualify, you should definitely go for the discount.

As to which version... well, the Extended edition has a lot of stuff you won't use, like painting movies and a range of scientific stuff, but it also has spectacular 3D tools. I don't know if you've seen the latest edition of HoTChiPs, but I cover the 3D stuff in there in some detail. It really is extraordinary what can be achieved with the minimum amount of bother: it's not at all like using a regular 3D program.

But of course it does cost more!

Re: CS5
One piece of advice Joey:
The student version is much cheaper. However keep in mind that in order to activate the license you need to contact adobe and provide them with enough evidence that you are qualified to have a student version!

Re: CS5
Thank you Daniel. Fortunately, I have someone who's much more knowledgeable about this than I (well, that would be almost everyone!) to help guide me - as well as "you forum guys and gals". First, though, I get my new computer TOMORROW!!! Then, one day closer to CS5!
