Apple Announces 5K Retina iMac
Apple has announced a new 5K resolution Retina iMac Two problems to my mind. 1) All Mac'c new displays have a highly reflective surface. This may give better contrast but it can severely limit where you site your display. The reflections can be a real pain! I have the old 30" matt display. I shan't be trading that in until it dies. 2) When you get to this kind of resolution the control interface and tools get too small to read. I don't think this kind of resolution will work unless the software producers start to introduce scaleable interfaces. My present display is 2560 x 1600. The Photoshop interface is just about at the limit of what I can practicably see and click. At 5K I quite simply couldn't cope. What do you think? Does this sound attractive? _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Frankly once you're past 40 you can't see the difference anyway... |
