Grumpy old man time! A really, really stupid little niggle.
The really tiny niggles are always the most infuriating.

Is anyone in love with CC19's new move tool?

On earlier Photoshops transforming was by default freeform. You needed to hold down the Shift key to transform proportionally. Now it is proportional unless you hold down Shift to make it freeform. This is in the interests of 'consistency'.

Ok so far, so good. The idea makes perfect sense ........ but the way it has been implemented has me climbing the walls!

The old proportional method with the shift key held down transformed proportionally if you used a corner handle but remained single axis if you used a side handle. This is also the way every other photo editing and drawing software I can think of works too. It's a lifetime habit to work this way in just about everything.

So why on earth has Adobe made the new default mode unremittingly proportional regardless of whether you use corner or side handles? Seeing the object getting less wide when when I pull down on a top handle, for example, is so utterly counter instinctive and unexpected that it drives me completely crazy.

Thank God they have kept the option to switch back to the old method .............

End of mini vent ..............
