Re: New Keystrokes in CS4
Hi CY98
Yes still working on the problem.
On my Wacom I can use a Pen or a Mouse. With the mouse I have to press the left button whilst moving that adjusts the head size. On the Pen, I just slide, and the button then gives me the brushes palette.

Since reading what you and Trevor had to say I investigated further the Graphics Card.

Firstly, the driver is up to date as Apple do it automatically when they check and upgrade your software on line. OK. However, I then found that when I went in to CS4 Preferences to enable OpenGL it was greyed out. It looks like the OpenGL will not work on the Tiger OS.

In speaking to Apple - in nutshell - my 2005 G5 Power Mac running on Tiger is out of date! And, I should upgrade to Leopard, or Snow Leopard. Snow Leopard is out on two points, 1. Adobe appear to be having problems, so I hear. And, 2. my G5 is not able to run Snow Leopard anyway.

So it looks like I may have to spend £83.00 to buy an 'Old' version of an OS (Leopard).

I explained that I also have a new Mac Book Pro running Leopard. They said OK you can upgrade that to Snow Leopard for £25! I said can I pay a 'Family Plan' fee, which would allow me to use my Mac Book Pro Leopard on my G5, and the answer was a resounding know! You have to buy the boxed version of Leopard at £83.00. The Family Plan version enable you to use the OS on 5 machines but costs £140.00.

I may well have to accept defeat, until the time comes when I can upgrade my G5 next year sometime.

Regards

If you already have Leopard on your Mac Book Pro, then I assume you have the system disk. You can just install it on your G5 from that, surely?

Well I would have thought so. After all I did buy the OS with the laptop! However, the guy at my local dealers says, that you can't use it because the installation disks are configured especially for the Laptop!

I guess the only way to find out is try?

I don't have CS4, but OpenGL does not make it unusable, just some features don't work.

You might try visiting the Adobe Photoshop Mac forum and see if they have any similar question/answers.

Here is a link. http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop/photoshop_macintosh

Re: New Keystrokes in CS4
It appears that my problem is caused by the Graphics Card and not the OS Software.

When I tried the brush sizing thing on my Mac Book it works perfectly. On checking 'preferences' OpenGL is checked.

The Graphics Card in the Mac Book is an .........? Can't remember, NVid something? Sorry, but it is not the ATI Radeon that is in the G5.

So, wait for the upgrade to a new machine in 2010 (hopefully).

Thanks for all the help and advice chaps.
