Borderless Printing
Hi gang! I'm working on a project for a client and I need to be able to print the finished project as a borderless 8.5 x 11 image. Is there anyway to get rid of the default margins that Photoshop has? Everytime I try to print Photoshop scales down my image. Thanks in advance! |

Re: Borderless Printing
I don't belive you can( I could be wrong) but the border is there becouse the ink cartradge (atleast on mine) can not go all the way to the edge of the page. |

Re: Borderless Printing
Photoshop will print to the size specified, is your image set to those dimensions? Photoshop will keep the aspect ratio, so if it's not the exact size, it will have borders on the edges. Try setting the dimensions in the crop tool options. As John-Bob says, not all printers will print borderless, you may want to check the specifications. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Re: Borderless Printing
John-BoB's right, it's not Photoshop but your printer that's setting these restrictions. It has to leave a margin for its rollers to grip the paper without smudging, and unless you've invested in a pricey borderless printer you're stuffed, I'm afraid. Scissors and tape? |

Thanks for the quick replies. I was afraid of that. Oh well, the client will just have to live with it. Thanks again! |

Re: Borderless Printing
I've got a Epson Stylus CX3200 printer approx. £99 (not bad for a printer) This also comes with a built in scanner and copier and will do Borderless printing. It's worth having a look around as high spec printers are not as inaccessable as they once were you just need to know what you want from your printer before purchasing. _________________ mad as a badger and twice as furry |

Re: Borderless Printing
I've got a Canon Pixma IP600d I bought my wife for Christmas. I'll check if it handles the borderless deal. I original was printing the project out on my laser just to get a rough idea of my layout. Now that I think of it, it doesn't matter if my Canon does borderless. The client wants to be able to print these out on his printer. LOL! Oh well. I tend to get a little brain dead after 15-17hr work days. Thanks gang! |
