matching flesh colors
Is there an easy way to match the flesh tone in photo 1 with flesh tone in photo 2? Photos taken in different setup. I figured that if the RGB in #! equals RGB in #2 it should work, but it does not appear to be that simple. Think saturation has a play in it. |

Photos can vary wildly between different sessions, because the conditions can be so different: indoor/outdoor, flash/studio lighting, and so on. The best way is really to do it by eye, using Curves to adjust the image. If you like, post a couple of examples here and I'll show you what I mean. |

Hi Cy with photos liek steve has just said the final result is almost totally down to the lighting conditions at the time. A photo taken indoors under tungsten lighting will be totally different from say sodium or halogen lighting, different again in natural light, different in sunlight and so on and so on. So there isnt any easy formula to adjusting two or more images to match tonally apart from using your eye and gauging what colours needs adjusting in order to match up with the other. I find adobe camera raw is great for lighting corrections (before you open the photo in photoshop) and general tweaking. Then any final tonal adjustments can be easily made in photoshop. by the way you can open a normal Jpeg image in camera raw and not just a .RAW format. Johnny |
