loosing the edges in C3
On p 27 of 4th edition I have gone over and over step 5 and I can't get it to work. Must be reading something wrong. I press control and click hand layer and then neither layer is colored blue. The control shift I does nothing. When I go to Select the inverse option is grayed out. If I click All the marching ants are around the border, and the inverse is available, but when I press it it says no pixels selected. Do not see that option. What am I missing? Looked at the Loosing the edges note from awhile back but that did not help.

Thanks

Re: loosing the edges in C3
It took me a while to work out what you meant by neither layer being blue (as the image background is blue). It sounds like you are Control-clicking the layer's label which is used to group select multiple layers or, in this case deselect it. In CS2/3 you need to ctrl-click the thumbnail to load the selection.

Re: loosing the edges in C3
I have tried all the combinations of control clicking the layers name as the book suggested, but then I clicked the layer's image of the hand itself, and viola I got the marching ants around the hand like it should be.
