Using the Pen for selection
Ok, now I FIRST let me apologize to anyone who's miffed I had the audascity to post this in case it's already been covered. I'm really sorry, I looked, but I can't find the answer to my really simple question. The pen tool, how can you use it to select objects? In the version of How to Cheat in Photoshop, the author uses it to isolate a mug from the background...but every time I try to whip out the pen tool it creates a vector mask for a shape. How can you convert the pen to allow you to create selections? Thanks for your patience! |

Asparagustus, Welcome to the forum and don't worry about repeating questions, we'd never ask anything otherwise. It sounds like you have the filled shape option selected, rather than the path tool. With the Pen Tool selected go to the options bar at the top, select the Work Path icon (image of the pen tool in front of a square). Once you've created your path, press cmd/ctrl+enter to create a selection. _________________ Leap and the net will appear |
