Raw Conversions
I have just installed CS3 Extended, and find that I have no idea how to work on Raw photographs because CS3 has changed the CS2 procedure. I would like to know if anyone has tried any of the books on sale. I don't want to buy a book and find there is a better book around.

Re: Raw Conversions
Thistle, I just yesterday purchased 'Real World Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS3'. Now that's some title. I have yet to get into it but from thumbing through it I felt it was worth the forty dollars. I also purchased Steve's newest edition of How to Cheat in Photoshop CS3.

Re: Raw Conversions
Thanks, Crafty45. I will try and get 'Real World Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS3'. I already have Steve's book 'How to Cheat in Photoshop CS3' and have found it most useful. Unfortunately, I am just a raw beginner with Raw, and need to be led by the hand.

Well, if you are like me, when you play with a raw file in Camera Raw just a little you will be trapped and hooked for ever.

Have fun,
Bob

Re: Raw Conversions
If you like online tutorials I would recommend Lynda.com. For 25$ for one month you get unlimited acess to tutorials on just about every imaging software you can imagine.

The best is that these tuts are videos that last for up to 6-7 minutes. I had a go for a month. There's about 120 hours on PS CS3, uncluding detailed stuff on the RAW converter. I think I spent an average of 90 minutes a day to pack my brain.

For 25$, it's well worth the money.

Re: Raw Conversions
Lynda.com is great, I got a free month when I bought CS3. Have been meaning to sing up for an other month, just trying to find a free month. Their suggestion was to sign up and then immediately cancel. You still have your month, but you wont' forget to cancel and end ou with more than 1 month.
