why lock transparency
Hi, I keep going back to, HTCIP, 3rd ed. Would someone please explain the purpose of "locking transparency"? Its use on page 136 & 137, works well but I want to know the reason so I can use it on other images. Thank you, Abby-Helen |

Re: why lock transparency
When you lock the transparency, it prevents any painting from spilling outside of the object's pixels. It's no different to loading up its selection, just easier to see. It's explained more visually on pages 22-23. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Re: why lock transparency
Thanks David, now that makes sense. Also page 22 and 23 now work for me. It always amazes me how I can work through the book and understand most of it then when I go back I see where I've tripped up on a minor detail. Thanks again, Abby-Helen |
