draw in ps
I created this poster just for the fun and the learning. I did draw the basic figures in Illustrator. Is there a way to draw them in Photoshop? All comments and suggestions welcome. Thank you, Abby-Helen |

Very good Abby! I like the pun Nero Burned while Rome Fiddled lol ..maybe add a few more flames on Nero or deepen the colour of the flames? I dont know if you're able to draw in PS like that..I cant draw if my life depended on it .. stick men are my limits lol |

I'm not sure if you really want to draw them in Photoshop. Illustrator is much better for that kind of drawing. You can however, bring them into and use them in Photoshop. Use "File > Place" to place your artwork in Photoshop. now you can add a background to your scene, or whatever you would like. |

Thanks Anna, yes Nero's flame could do with more accent. Thanks Dave, I like the idea of adding a background to the scene, possibly a faint gradient to add depth. Steve, I hope you are working on How to Cheat in Illustrator, perhaps a good portion on how Photoshop and Illustrator can team up. Abby-Helen |

Re: draw in ps
I've been trying to get the Photoshop and Illustrator teams to talk to each other for years! But they don't seem aware of what each other are doing. For instance, don't you think it would make sense if the 3D feature in CS3 Extended could import 3D models made in Illustrator? Or if Illustrator had a 'rubber band' feature on the Pen tool, like Photoshop does? (Mentioned this to one of the Illustrator developers, he wasn't aware of the feature in Photoshop). Ho hum... |

Who is it then that coordinates the cross application look and feel stuff? Does he not pass anything else between the bitmap and vector camps? |

Re: draw in ps
The look and feel is separate to the functionality. Frustrating, isn't it! |

Re: draw in ps
Abby's drawings are amazing! Remember you can have both Illustrator and Photoshop open together, then just drag'n'drop your Illustrator file straight into Photoshop (it will go into Photoshop as a 'Smart Object'.) But I get so frustrated with both Illustrator and Photoshop's method of drawing outlines. Why is it so difficult, when you've got wonderful, lovely XARA, which makes it a pleasure to do line drawing? I start out my illustrations in XARA. The resultant .eps file is opened in Illustrator, then drag'n'dropped straight into Photoshop. Works for me! |

Re: draw in ps
Thanks Ocker, for the kind compliment. And I do like using Illustrator along with Photoshop. The reason I wanted to know how to draw in ps is because the Friday challenges promote the "pure" use of Photoshop, or am I wrong in this? Abby-Helen |
