Bubbles and spherize
I am somewhat new to Photoshop, so am struggling with some of the techniques in the book. I cannot get the exercise on bubbles (p 222) to work at all. Why do we make a merged copy of the bubbles if there is no style applied to them? Do you apply the spherize filter on the original bubble or on the merged copy? And the flat side of my bubbles are not on the side that overlaps another bubble. Where am I going wrong? Thanks! |

When you make a merged copy of one of the bubbles, you're copying everything that's seen through the bubble. So when you paste and then spherize the copy, it distorts the view seen through it. If you distort the view seen through one bubble, and then spherize the bubble that overlaps it, you'll get a flattening effect between the two. Does this help? Steve |

The book does assume readers have a fair grasp of Photoshop to begin with. But if you do have difficulties, ask away - that's what this forum is for. |
