New Photoshop Beginner
I have used Paint Shop Pro so am slightly familiar with Photoshop. I cannot find the elliptical marwuee tool in the toolbar. Can you help me get it to show |

Hi Clemy Many of the tools shown have other tools / variants hidden within the same box. The easiest way is to right click on the square and all options will be revealed. Nick |

Forgot to mention that the EM tool will be under the rectangular marquee tool, but I guess you've now discovered that. I've never used PS Pro, but in P/Shop there is an option box within the toolbar to feather the selection. I would suggest this is left at zero and you feather selections manually, as this gives more control. Once you've made the selection and with the marquee tool still selected, right click and a dialogue box will open. Within the options you'll find feather. It's quicker than going to Select / Modify / Feather via the main menu each time. Steve's book gives an excellent explanation on adding to and removing from selections and how to constrain to squares and circles. Nick |
