Batch Resizing In Image Ready?
Hi All, Just finished a big project involving 150 animated gifs, or so I thought! I have now been asked to resize them to 80% of their original size, but try as I might, I cannot find a batch command in Image Ready. Do I have to run each image seperately? Even using a recorded action, this is going to be very tedious! Thanks in advamce BB |

Can you open the frames in photoshop and then do the action? I assume you must have CS2 as CS3 no longer has image ready. Never used CS2. |

Re: Batch Resizing In Image Ready?
Hi Cy98, and thanks for the reply... I'm still on CS (sob!), but will consider upgrading before the end of the year. Unfortunately animated gifs won't open in Photoshop... well they will but only as a flat image. It looks like I am going to have to either sit at the computer monotonously clicking "Open, Action, Confirm replace File," 150 times in Image Ready, or forget about the resizing, which would be a shame. I'll see what sort of mood I'm in on Monday! BB |

Re: Batch Resizing In Image Ready?
CS4 will be out sometime this winter the word goes, but you may need a high powered machine to run it. Look at your upgrade options (each upgrade price increases up to 3? versions). If you upgrade to CS3 this Fall would probably get a free upgrade to CS4 if it comes out shortly thereafter. Don't know what CS has, and never used these functions, but look at File>Import video frames to layers or Scripts>Export Layer to files. Also might do a web search to find answer for your conundrum. Maybe someone else on the forum will chime in with better procedures. |

Re: Batch Resizing In Image Ready?
Hi Babybiker, I have Photoshop CS3 and I found a way to do the job quickly. Select File/Import/Video Frames to Layers... GIFs are not listed in 'Files of type' but if you put *.* as the file name all file types are shown Select your animated GIF then choose 'From Beginning To End' and 'Make Frame Animation' Make sure that the Animation window is showing Select Image/Image Size/ and choose whatever size you want Select File/Save For Web & Devices/ making sure that the type is GIF then Save All Done If this is not possible in Photoshop CS you may be able to modify the technique for Image Ready or Fireworks etc. rufus |
