Odd problem with quickmask
Hey just bought your book, its great for newbies as well thanks. I noticed that in the tutorials such as quickmask: transformations and the quick selection tool 2 when you enter quickmask mode the red filling only applies to the section you selected.

I have a strange problem. Quickmask selects and fills in everything I HAVENT selected (with the magic wand, quick select etc). What in the world? It's very annoying to work with as I can't see what I'm doing. Any ideas on what the problem is?

I have Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended.

Re: Odd problem with quickmask
Hi vtte,

Open up photoshop and double click on the quick mask icon. Then you just change from selected areas to unselected areas or vice versa. You can also change the colour of the quick mask from the 'rubylith' to any other colour you wish. You can also change the transparency of the mask.

Hope this helps.

Gordon

This is explained on the first of the QuickMask pages, in the introduction. But you're not the first person to miss it!

Welcome to the forum, and do post if you have any more queries.

Thank you both so much, problem solved. And thank you Gordon for going to the effort of even posting a screenshot-guide for me!
