2 screens
I have set up a second screen, got it working reasonably well, (as one horizontal screen). However I have problems getting the proportions right. Images looks a little squeezed. Can anyone point me in to somewhere I can find out how to get it right and get the most from my screens.

Hi Vibeke,
In XP you can right click anywhere in the desktop, then select properties, then select settings tab, then click advanced I think? There should be something around here that lets you change the resolutions of each monitor so you can select the native resolution (proberbly the maximum allowable resolution) for each one. Sorry I can't be more helpful but am trying to describe from memory.

Re: 2 screens
Here's a pic of my very cluttered work area.

The left-hand monitor is a 19" and the right-hand is a 22" widescreen.

As advised above, the native resolution needs to be set for each monitor. Thus the 19" is set to 1280 x 1024 and the 22" is set to 1680 by 1050 pixels. The right-hand monitor is set as 'Monitor No 1'.

As you can see, this set up gives a pretty-much equal image on both monitors. But the desktop background has to be set to 'centred' or (as in my case) 'Maintain aspect ratio'. For example, 'Fit to screen' or 'Stretch' will have differing proportons on each monitor.

Is this what you are experiencing, vibeke?

Re: 2 screens
Thanks, I have now got it set up so it really works, Initally I had it set to One screen streched horizonaly across the 2. which gave problems with the aspect ratio. To get it right I had to sacrifice some of my big screesn space.
Finally figured out to set them up as Dualview. Which works perfectly. Still haven't managed to get the colours absolutly the same, but it's getting close. Using 2 different brands and quality doesn' help.
I'm using a 24" and a 17".
