Something with the cursor
Hey all, not really an issue with the book, more like Photoshop itself. It's the cursor, it keeps converting from an appropiate cursor image (picture of a pen for the pen tool, a ball shape depending on how big your brush it, etc), to a cross (+) and it's annoying, as you can tell it's not very nice when I'm trying to accurately paint something, can someone tell me how to fix this?

Hi Jono,

Try turning the CAPS LOCK off. This usually works for me when I get a cross hair instead of the expected tool shape.

Re: Something with the cursor
I have another problem. When an image is opened in photoshop, the cursor is in arrow shop its default appearance. When a tool is selected it changes shape. After the job is done it is not possible to reverse and go to the original stage. I have to close the photoshop window and open afresh.

Is there any method by which one can toggle back and forth from default cursor to tool and back

Re: Something with the cursor
Just click on the move tool at top of tool strip.

I just came to this board to post that exact same question! I also just saw "BigVern's" response. I'm gonna try that next time...hope it works because this has been driving me insane!

Re: Something with the cursor
I am not sure its related, but some graphics cards were/are not compatible with CS4 latest version for the cursor and the rotating etc. Really annoyed me,
BUT I was able eventually to download firmware update from graphics card HW supplier NVIDIA for my MS Desktop. It works fine now, but did need a second fixed -> fixed version. There were no problems with laptop.... newer

You can see the discussion via Google serach or for me this->

That worked! I can't believe that's all it took. This has been driving me nuts for a year now and all I had to do was hit the CAPS LOCK .
Thanks Vern!
