The subjects then need to be placed and combinded onto a pure white background with others people to build up one image. Is there a paticular colour background which works best so I can shoot people on it to speed up the process of seperation? Ideally I would like to use the magic wand or quick selection tool. I have tried already with an off white background but it merges with the clothing and there are too many variations in the shading. |

I find the best background for cutting out hair is actually black, as this allows the best use of the Background Eraser tool. For clothing, an off white background is usually a good choice. Depending on the clothing, of course, you may have to make manual selections as well. Photographers tend to prefer mid grey backgrounds, as these produce the best skin tones. But they're also hard to select against. This sounds like an interesting job. Can you tell us more about it? |

I have seen that a green background lit properly works so I will make one up, there are other programs geared especially for this. I don't really want to stray from photoshop so any tips to speed the process of selection on a green background are welcome. |
