polar coordinates
I have a problem, the polar coordinates don't seem to work for me, I can't get the sun rays as perfect as in the book. After I apply the polar coordinates, it looks like this: look attachment please. can anybody tell me why? maybe the circles are not well done? in the middle of the stage? ![]() |

Re: polar coordinates
It could be that the blobs of paint are not in the correct position. Create a new file, say 8X8 inches @ 300ppi, so you can save this for use at another time. Set up the grid - CTRL' - with divisions every one inch and 4 subdivisions. Start by painting the black blobs evenly, using different size brushes on the centre line going down the page. Fill in with different size grey blobs, as Steve describes and then follow steps 7 & 8 with the wind filter. Rotate the layer 90 degrees ensuring that your line of blobs are on the horizontal centre line and meet the edges of the canvas. Enter free transform and while holding SHIFT & ALT drag the top handle upwards. By holding the keys as described, you will see that the bottom of the box moves commensurately. The stretched blobs should take up approximately 50% of the canvas and be centred. Then follow steps 10 & 11 and you should have a good result. I've attached my effort. Nick ![]() |
