Thanks very much artwell. Think I'm doing most of that and still having trouble with CS6. ![]() |

Re: Optimize Performance in Photoshop
I found the bit on Ram usage and 32bit/64bit interesting. Sophie are you Windows or Mac? I'm not sure what the problem you're having is but I had some odd stuff happening on the screen (sections vanishing etc) Then somebody on here (I've looked but cannot remember who or where it was posted) mentioned going to Windows>control panel>Personalize appearance>Window color and Appearance> then changing from Windows Aero to Windows Vista Basic. Now somehow this simple trick fixed everything instantly. Sorry if this has nothing to do with your issue! ![]() _________________ “Art Is Never Finished, Only Abandoned.” |

Re: Optimize Performance in Photoshop
There are some issues with CS6, certainly, and I'm also seeing unacceptable freezes while I'm working. It's to be hoped a patch will be released soon to address these. |

Re: Optimize Performance in Photoshop
Thanks Artwel, I made a PDF of this page. I find CS6 too good to not using it. A great program with nice new features and ever so fast. I read about this Aero bussiness too, but that was a long time ago and one may assume this point has been taken care of by Adobe. In my opinion this was already done in CS4. The only thing that's different for me is: more times Ctrl»S, after the one freeze I've got, working on a big file (94 MB). |

Re: Optimize Performance in Photoshop
I didnt have any issues in photoshop but the Vista Aero fixed a problem I had with 3d studio max.. It was a 2008 version so, like you said, new versions of software have probably similar issues. Also made my 2009 pc run and boot alot faster. _________________ “Art Is Never Finished, Only Abandoned.” |
