Enlarging Images
I am trying a different way to enlarge images. One of the instructions near the end says: Go back to the Image Size dialog box and reduce both image width & height to 50% this time. Choose Enhance > Unsharp Mask from the menu. Where do I find this "Enhance > Unsharp Mask bit in the menu? Any help welcome. Will put the full instructions up if it helps! Thistle |

Re: Enlarging Images
sounds like an unlikely way to enlarge, do let us know if it works. The Unsharp Mask, is found under Sharpen in the Filters Menu good luck _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Re: Enlarging Images
How do you enlarge an image by reducing it 50%? That doesn't make sense to me! |

Re: Enlarging Images
I only copied from point 8...the begining instructs: 1. Go to the menu and choose Image > Image Size. 2. In the Document Size section of the image Size dialog box, enter 200% into the Width and Height fields. 3.Check the Resample Image checkbox at the bottom of the dialog box and make sure the Bicubic Automatic option is selected from the drop-down list below. Click OK to confirm. 4. Go to the menu and choose Filter > Noise > Despeckle. The Image will be softened. 5. Repeat the above steps (except for the Despeckle filter) to double the image size. 6. Choose Filter > Stylize > Defuse from the menu. 7. Select Anisotropic mode from the Diffuse dialog box and click OK. 8. Go back to the Image Size dialog box and reduce both image width and height to 50% this time. 9. Choose Enhance > Unsharp Mask from the menu. Your image is now ready for print output. (This is from 'Adobe Photoshop CS6 Learn by Video (Video2brain) booklet - presented by Kelly McCathran. I'm quite stuck! Thistle |

Um. Well, there's a chance that approach might work. But doesn't it seem like an awfully long-winded way of going about things? |

Re: Enlarging Images
I agree, Steve, just thought I'd give it a go - but I cannot find the "Enhance" bit, and if I could, what settings do I use for "Unsharp Mask" ? Think I'll stick to the usual method of enlarging. Thistle |

Re: Enlarging Images
For "enhance" use "Filter > Sharpen". As for settings... I covered Unsharp Mask in the book! But try 100%, 1, 0 and see how that looks. |

Re: Enlarging Images
I use your method, Steve, just thought this sounded different - it is meant to make tiny images (as on the web) clear when enlarged. I will leave well alone. Thank you everyone who read my query and a big thank you to those who offered suggestions. Thistle |
