3D texture
Have been messing around with simple 3D in CS6 extended. I edited the texture to add one of my own, which I had already adapted so it made a continuous pattern (tried it with a sphere and didn't get any joining line), but have now got a small area where the texture isn't right. Any ideas why? Very impressed how the texture wraps around the path shape. ![]() |

Re: 3D texture
I think this is probably down to the sheer complexity of the shape. One thing you could try is using the Patch or Clone tools to go over those horizontal lines - using the tools directly on the 3D object. Sounds absurd, but it might work. |

Re: 3D texture
Deb did you make the newel/post in PS? The texture is excellent (bar that little bit) the way it moulds into the crevices is great! Great job _________________ Wicked Witch of the West:I'll get you, my pretty! And your little dog, too! |

Re: 3D texture
Thanks Anna, simple pen tool. Thanks Steve, and there was me thinking PS could do anything! I have posted this comment elsewhere, but will post again. I watched your excellent tutorials on 3D which Frank had put a link to. Is there anywhere that I can find all your online tutorials, I just seem to keep stumbling on them. I think it is time someone wrote a book on 3D in photoshop - I would certainly buy it. And now for a question, what size did you do your image of the glass and bottle? I attach 2 images done in 3D, one a simple sphere at 10" x 9" @ 180, which worked well, and the other which is only partly rendered as it made PS crash. That was 3" x 3" @ 180. I realise that glass texture is incredibly complex, so what sort of size should I be attempting this? Or is it that my computer can't handle it? Thanks ![]() |

Re: 3D texture
Update: my computer has 4GB of RAM, which the man in the Apple store said 'should be' just enough. But I'm still not sure what image size I should be working on? |
