Incorrect Performance
When using Windows 7 on a PC in Photoshop C6 and making a selection of the hubcap, the background and the tire are masked off and not the hubcap as displayed in the movie. How can I mask the hubcap and not the background and tire? ![]() ![]() |

Re: Incorrect Performance
Are you using Quick Mask to select the hubcap? If so then you should double click on the Quick Mask icon (immediately below the colour picker) and change the settings to 'Colour indicates selected areas'. If you find that the wrong part of the selection is being masked then you can Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-I to invert the selection. If you are making the selection followed by adding a layer mask to the layer you can invert the layer mask by selecting it and pressing Ctrl/Cmd-I. One of these techniques should solve your problem with any luck. Let us know how you get on. Hopefully your ' ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gordon _________________ ![]() |

Re: Incorrect Performance
Double clicking on the Quick Mask icon and then checking the selection area box solved the problem. Thanks Gordon ![]() ![]() |

You're getting ahead of yourself! QuickMask is explained a few pages further on in the chapter. |
