Explosions - can't get colors when using Render-Clouds
I'm following the instructions in Chapter 7 (CS6 ver) to make an explosion. I've locked the transparency on the layer and have changed the foreground and background colors to red/yellow, but when I hit Render>Clouds, I get no colors. Help? |

Are you sure you're working in RGB? And if so, are you sure you're working on the RGB composite rather than an individual channel, or a mask? If possible, can you post a screenshot of your Photoshop window showing an open Layers panel. This will help me to figure out what's going on. |

Thanks, Steve, for your speedy reply. I checked all the things you mentioned and they were okay. But it got me thinking that I was working with a 16 bit image so I changed the Mode to 8-bit and now the colors came up when using the clouds filter. You've authored a terrific book and I'm excited to be working on my first composite thanks to all I've learned from your book. ![]() |
