What Brush Would Be Best To Replicate This?
This illustration portion of this was done with an application outside of Photoshop in an effort to find the best ways to turn my digital art into illustrations. I really like the skin pattern and was wondering which brush or what combination of tools would best replicate the skin pattern.

Thanks for the help!

Calasade, ideally patterns are great if they are seamless.
Creating those can be a Photoshop work of art in itself . . . .

For your example and wanting that sketched “skin pattern”, well not really that difficult.
(I see an overlay pattern here and not brush work)

I just took a small sample (204pxX204px) put on separate layer.
Duplicated with a slight overlap, added a layer mask to blend.
Then merged down.
I repeated many times.
At the end, I built a layer that was 757px X 762 px

Take that layer, drag over to your image, Use Multiply Mode.
Add a Layer Mask to custom hide/reveal pattern on your image.
One and done.
(Maybe took 10 minutes)

See attached.

Calasade,

Great you got it to work!
I’ll leave the detailed step by step tutorial writing up to the experts.

If you are happy with your “sketched skin pattern” then save it as a Pattern Preset for future use. (Edit>Define Pattern)

Always good to save/store/organize all custom presets with Preset Manager on your computer. . . . yet another quick and easy tip. (Edit>Presets>Preset Manager)
